My neighbors have the best garbage.

In front of the house we have an iris today~

Marcel and I got bumped off the road by a double-wide triple-decker stroller before I could get another shot of it, because its right next to the sidewalk, and the stroller was being propelled at a very high rate of speed! Can I just say those things are a menace? A menace!
I was concentrating on the camera screen and heard nothing, thank god Marcel dragged me out of harm's way, as he fled in terror the hideous contraption as it was bearing down! Bearing 3- count them, 3!- rather peevish looking crumb-crushers, -two in the usual seats, one in some sort of strapped-on extend-o-seat, forming a terrifying and tallish toddler pyramid large enough to crush a small dawg like a bug! Egads.
But you get the picture!

And plus, I promised you garbage and here it is, in its splendor~ peep this!

Its this huge old birdy condo-complex, unfortunately severely warped in places and rather rotten but nonetheless charming~

Last night I tipped off my landlady, who collects birdhouses, paints them and fills her garden with them. We were standing around looking at it with her boyfriend, and plus the couple from next door, and their 2 little boys. In the end, the consensus was that most of the wood was too rotten and no one felt it could be saved.

It was still out there this morning and I am still conflicted. The main thing that keeps me from taking it in, besides the fact that its huge, I mean, and also rotten, is that its also full of spiderwebs.
Such lovely colors, though, no?

Speaking of lovely colors, I've been swatching for some socks.

Did you know I once made a sock so large I can wear it as a short scarf? I had forgotten about it until this morning when I was cleaning out my crazy yarn box -surely you have a crazy yarn box of your own, gentle knitting readers, the box of odd things, not the whole stash, you know the one! The one with the Frog Pond in it? Whoa. All these projects that seemed like good ideas at the time, halfway unraveled?
Oh, tell me its not just me!- Anyway I came across this giant sock, its striped, green and grey, and was intended for a rather largish man
but I'm pretty sure I could fit all of Marcel in there and that's saying something.
Where was I?
Oh yeah.
So I'm trying to make socks that fit my ankles and don't bag out on me, a problem which has plagued my sock knitting and made for several pairs of gift socks, which is nice for Mr. Goddamn Sunshine, except the last pair was even bagging on him. Clearly I have gauge issues.
I'm trying the size 0s with the Trekking.

Probably ribbing will enter in later, even though I am so much more inclined towards the rolled edge sock.

I always want to eat the sock yarn. So yummy.

And then there is a bit of art, for your viewing pleasure, I give you

Phillipe et Claude.
I drew them this morning. Not sure if it has something to do with the rerun I watched of Will And Grace yesterday.

My houseplant is blooming.
