dogue update, plus, a fanciful garment, and more

Marcel knows that the ladies can't resist him anyway, but especially when he strikes a thoughtful pose, and looks sensitive and wistful.

The truth is its probably something to do with digestion. Food coma! It happens!
The other thing is, Marcel has a slightly worrisome health issue at the moment, (he's not worried, actually, but I am. He only worries about loud airplanes, thunderstorms, and sometimes fireworks) which we are coping with -with the help of our intrepid vet and vet assistant extraordinaire. And prescription food as well as subcutaneous fluids administered twice a week- so far we've done one, with help. Today I get to try it on my own. Marcel has a kidney thing, which may or may not have been caused by pouches of Iams wet food which were contaminated. Its expected that he will make a full recovery, but everybody think good thoughts for my boy, ok?
Yesterday I got the most amazing gift-

What can it be??
My apartment is barely big enough to contain it!
So I had a hard time finding a spot to photograph it and do it any justice at all.

Its a kind of kimono, designed by Noorym, and it really is So Beautiful You'll No Longer Need Television!

It fits me pretty well, but Marcel keeps stepping on my train.
And plus its perfect for just about any occasion- day, sipping tea in my chaise, or evening, performing Pagan rituals, goth night at Neo (does that still go on?) going to the opera, walking the dog, you know. A girl has got to have the right outfit.
Anyway, huge and heartfelt thanks to Noorym for this splendid present!! It is in a loving home!!
While there is no significant knitting news to report- although I am cranking away at the Super Secret Baby Gift, and Avast is still somewhat stalled- I have been reading the Yarn Harlot's book
which is making me feel so much better about ripping things out and also getting in the mood for some sock knitting, big time.
So just in case I ever get these little footie sock things made that I have in mind for some of the Trekking I got at Sea Needles last summer, I got shoes to show them off-

And speaking of showing things off, Mr. Goddamn Sunshine got a new jigsaw! Here he is, all incognito, holding not a giant wooden pirate sword (doesn't it kind of look like one?) but part of a pergola project he is working on~

If you find you are in need of a pergola, or any other type of home improvement involving carpentry, don't let the beard scare you off! Carpenters are supposed to have big beards, its all the better for catching the sawdust with! And plus, he knows his stuff. So give a holler and I'll hook you up!

It's true all the best carpenters I know have had beards. Of course Jesus had one too. I send best wishes to Marcel for his complete recovery. I have a lovely labrador retriever who has health issues related to getting old and it's making me quite worried so I can sympathize. The kimono really is amazingly beautiful.
