Bike moves! Plus, no trailer-parking!
Since moving season is nigh, and I know of at least one couple (bro and s-i-l) who are making their move this time around, I thought I'd make a timely suggestion! Here is a link to a bit of video someone posted on the Critical Mass list~ a bike move that happened in Portland. They are awfully cute out there in Portland, and plus, if you listen carefully towards the end a voice can be heard to say "Hey, no touching in the Bathing Suit Area!" So you can see why I have to recommend this video clip highly and give it a 2 thumbs way up! We had one here, which I didn't attend, as I am a wuss, and figured me and my little spaghetti arms would be more hindrance than help. Although I hear tell that there were so many helpers that some only moved clothes on hangers. Well, I guess there's next time!
Travesty went, and came to my house later with the Ghetto Trailerâ„¢, and we tore up the garage for a while, little me clinging to the trailer and squealing madly! The garage also has two floors, and thus 2 doors, and two rather nice ramps for coasting down, wind in one's hair. Its better than Disneyland. One of my elderly neighbors observed the madness for a while and commented, "you two know how to have fun!"
Yeah, fun until the cranky garage guy put the smack down. No joy-riding around the garage! "You could hit a car!" He said. What about a car could hit us?! Seems to me he was concerned with shiny paint jobs more than my exposed helmetless coconut. Not that I was concerned, my trusty steed has mad bike steering skills! Believe it!
Oh, pictures would have been nice but it was all rather spontaneous.
In any event, there is video somewhere of the Chicago bike move too but of course I can't find it now.
