pie, pie, pie, plus biking and a freeganism link

Here is what Marcel did for Thanksgiving.

This was before he knew there were leftovers to be had.

I made a pie. Hey, it looks a little funny but it tastes like PIE. And that's all that matters, right? Piepiepiepiepiepiepie. I love pie.
I had pie for breakfast. Probably I will have pie for lunch. Mashed potatoes and pie.

We sent the big dawg home with lots of leftovers. Dawgs have a sixth sense about these things. They can smell through the sturdiest of tupperware.

Pie?

Pie? Pie?

Pie, pie, pie!?

PIE!!!!
No. Really Marcel wanna play with you. Play and eat pie. Then sleep.

This morning I finished the last sleeve for the Agnes sweater. So now I'm all trepiditious (if that's a word) about sewing the parts together. Does one sew first, or block then sew? Then block again?
Then sew in ends when its all together? These are things I gotta look into. But all the pieces are done! Hourah!

Tonight there is a Critical Mass ride. Will I be brave enough?? Its COLD. I'm skinny. Skinny but also invincible! Believe it! So we'll see. Tuesday I rode my bike home from the Food Hole (Hole Foods- site of The Scariest Parking Lot on Earth- picture hundreds of giant SUVs vying for about 10 parking places and little me in their collective blind spots, which are pretty much anywhere besides their front windows. Picture little me, arms flailing, yelling at the driver of a FORD GIGANTOR who just nearly backed over me. Here is what I seem to remember saying, although its kind of a blur, due to adrenalin. "You can't see ANYTHING from that huge f****** car, can you!???" Wishing I had the split-second timing and reflexes of one A. Travesty, tall bike rider and precision spitter at reckless taxis!-and with whom I ate pie after last week's Rat ride, and after I skinned my knee, dear readers, this is how brave and intrepid I am! Except it wasn't dumpstered pie. But we had lost those rats anyways.- He's like a tree-toad, its pure poetry. Believe it!) anyway, where was I? Oh yes, carrying about 20 pounds of Thanksgiving dinner in 2 messenger bags, into the wind, in about 25 degree weather (ok maybe it was 30 but it was cold) for about 6 miles. Did I sit down on Clark Street and have a tantrum, like I wanted to, when I could only chug slowly into the wind, bags cutting into my circulation, wobbling slightly under the shifting weight??
I forged on, and made it home for I am invincible!!! Hear me rowr.
Its that first step out the door in one's layers that is the hardest. I will have to be very brave.
Will she make it?? Stay tuned!

Ahhhh, pie. It is the harbinger of the season, of warm holiday evenings spent inside, sheltered from the cold.

Who in their right mind does not love pie?

Marcel looks absolutely adorable, if a bit manic.

I do not love pie. I do not even like it.

I am bad example, however, as it is a well-known fact that I am not in my (or anyone else's) right mind.

Also, if any American automobile manufacturer ever actually comes out with a model called GIGANTOR, I am so totally buying one, if only for the many stimulating conversations with my sister that it would be sure to generate.

Thomas,
As long as you didn't almost squash me like a bug in
Hole Foods parking lot I wouldn't spit on your
GIGANTOR. :)
You know, I think the name HUMMER is pretty funny too, why dontcha get one of them?

Marcel wants a red mini-cooper with Noorym as his chauffeur. Pippy can sit in the back and knit.

Pippy, Pippy,
Look here. This is a funny blog by illustrators and this post has a peculiar dog story:

I thought about gettin a Hummer, but I don't know - they look kinda puny to me. What I really want is one of these:

Bro, I know where you live. You would have to park that thing on the street. Your neighbors would let the air out of your tires.
Anyway I did enjoy this bit from the webpage~
" Onlookers have been known to gawk at its style and gasp at its size. "

I wouldn't have to park it *right* on the street.

I could just park it on top of somebody's Hummer.
