I heart Hugo Chavez

Uh-oh, look out. The Knit-A-Log goes political.
If I lived in Venezuela, I would get healthcare. That's all I'm sayin'.
If you have time, read the article. Otherwise, here is a representative quote~
" A fluent young anarchist, Marcel, showed me the clinic where the two Cuban doctors may have saved his girlfriend. (In a barter arrangement, Venezuela gives Cuba oil in exchange for doctors)."
Ok, so there's guys named Marcel in the US, too, but everyone thinks they are named after a mime, even if they're not! Just fyi, if you didn't know, they're named for a Dadaist. Believe it!
Anyway, what but what does it have to do with knitting??
Well let's see.
Yesterday I gotta gorgeous (muy muy bonita, I think is how you say it in Espanol. Maybe I'm wrong.) hank of Manos del Uruguay, which snuck up on me in a weak moment, and stole my heart and my grocery money! "Such a lovely hat I would make", it purred. Except in Spanish, and despite my limited Spanish skills, I heard it and I knew! Can you see it now? And plus look, look how macho! With shades ranging from the blackest of shiny raven blacks to electric blue to coffee brown to evergreen to gold. So boyish and so warm it will be! Maybe it will find a home, ahem. Soon it will be the holidays, which it strikes fear in our hearts even to contemplate, but the yarn shop was abuzz with talk of gift scarves and whatnot. Holiday knitting time has crept up again and is about to bite me on the butt. How does it happen?
Anyway, I also found another skein (Cari and Carolyn, its true, I should have gotten that third skein at the time! But its working out fine!) of the Noro that I am using for Agnes, and am pleased to say I am halfway through her second sleeve.
Santa better bring me a damn camera for Christmas, that's all I'm saying. You listening, fat man??
In fact, here is my Christmas list~

1. a camera
2. world peace
3. a functional pancreas
4. a bike basket for Marcel
5. a bus ticket to San Antonio

Not necessarily in that order and subject to change without notice.

I think you should move number 3 to the top of the list. We can get number 1 sorted. And what's in San Antone'??

I hate to say I told ya so, but... Glad you found another skein.

You sure you want to go to San Antonio? I think you want a bus ticket to New York.

Hey, it's me!
I agree with items 2, 3 (natch) and 5 on your list except I want my ticket to be to San Diego! Later,
Jupe
