He loves it so much it makes him woozy just thinking of it.

Oooh, he's getting sleepy! So sleepy!

So sleepy he can just barely focus his eyes!

Oh sleeping bag!
(red blob is long-eviscerated toy fire engine)

Other than that, its been awfully quiet around here. Too quiet.
What can be going on??
Mostly I spent today working on Agnes, Ugly Agnes, the ugliest sweater west of the Pecos! I look at her and I wonder what will become of her. Will the ugly duckling become a beautiful swan? Oh, the wildly mismatched shades of green, the unruly reverse stockinette madness! It all looks so appealing in the pattern book!
Well, I am making it from some skeins of leftover Noro Kureyon in a rather pukey colorway that I must have chosen in some sort of compromised state. Mingled with leftover Brown Sheep in dark dark purple and Manos in olive. O Olive, the color in which I look most like a corpse! Oh for a camera! Because I did overhear an older couple on the train observing that they thought the colors were pretty in the scarf I was making. Yes, the world's fattest, homeliest scarf, because I was making the back and its 80 stitches wide! Well, they had no way of knowing, and I wasn't in the mood for chatting.

And plus it was cold enough today to wear the haystack orange Manos shrug, only I wore it as a scarf, (and observed it will also make quite a nice hat in coldest winter, the shoulder part forming a kind of helmet and the sleeves tied under the chin, It is an all-purpose cold weather garment, what could be better? Maybe only to have one in red!!) and it kept me so toasty and also brightly visible on my bike! It was a very jaunty look, with a bright pink vinyl jacket. Its all about attitude, man.

Other than working on Agnes, I also am cranking away at Duchamp! the long-awaited Spring 2005 issue. It stands a slim chance of being out before Halloween, or at least Thanksgiving. Look for it soon and if you want your very own copy sent to your snailbox, let me know and I'll fire one off. I mean it, man!

I feel obligated to point out that any location in Chicago is almost certainly *East* of the Pecos.

Unless y'all got another Pecos up there that you ain't told us 'bout.
